Seller agreement
These are the selling rules for beats on SoundSea. They are the site operator’s rules, not a lawyer’s opinion, and they are not the license a buyer receives. The Terms of Service cover the rest of the site.
You are an independent seller
You are a separate business from SoundSea. You are not an employee, partner, or agent of the site. SoundSea is operated by its owner as a sole proprietorship. That does not make the owner a partner in your sales.
SoundSea is not the seller. SoundSea provides the page, the membership, and the checkout handoff. The buyer’s contract for the beat is with you. SoundSea does not take a share of the beat price.
The license is yours
You choose the price and you write the license the buyer sees before paying. The sample text in the studio is only a placeholder. It cannot be used for a sale. Before a beat can be offered, you confirm that you are the seller and that the license is yours.
You are responsible for the rights in the beat, any samples in it, what the buyer is allowed to do, the price, your taxes, your payment-processor fees, and a dispute about the file. SoundSea does not register your copyright, collect your sales tax, or police what a buyer does after download. SoundSea keeps a copy of the license the buyer accepted.
Payment
The beat payment goes to your own payment account. The processor’s fee comes out of that payment. You need that account finished, including payouts, before a buyer can pay you.
A seller pays SoundSea a separate subscription for access to offer beats. That fee belongs to SoundSea. It is not a commission on the beat. A founding member already has that access and is not charged the seller subscription. The membership is not required for the rest of the studio.
Refunds
You decide whether to refund your buyer, and you issue that refund from your own payment account. When the refund covers the whole charge, SoundSea marks the order refunded and closes the download. A partial refund leaves the download available. Refunding a beat does not cancel your SoundSea membership.
Removal
SoundSea can remove a beat listing when there is a real complaint or these rules are broken. A buyer who already paid keeps the file and the license they were shown, unless the charge is fully refunded. Buyers report a problem through Help & Reports.
